June 29: the smallest town in Spain

You can see the town name "Tienda", the house that serves as the town, and the leaving Tienda sign off in the distance to the left.

June 29: braided corn

This day would be the longest day on the Camino Primitivo for me. I would walk 46km with 3000ft ascent and 2700ft descent. The stretch of the "hospital" route runs along a remote (no water, nothing) mountain ridge line for 30km. It is the most scenic part of the Primitivo.  Most pilgrims don't go the 'hospital' route because of the distance without accommodation.  They do a much more tame version but without most of the great views. I didn't come all this way to settle for hind tit!

June 28: restaurant in Tineo owned by pilgrim

The closest I have come to Parador quality service in Spain.  It was amazing to say that the food was actually delicious Spanish food!

June 28: nice restaurant

The owner of this exclusive restaurant in Tineo gave pilgrims 1/2 off price for dinner.  The reason?  He is a pilgrim himself,  having walked the same Primitivo Camino 10 times!

June 28: Tineo

A welcome relief to arrive, with even the sun out. I struggled to take this photo because my phone was soaked (even being zipped up in my rain coat).

June 28: Salas

Passing under this arch represented the start of a 2000ft ascent through storm conditions (high winds and rain). I literally was soaked through,  even in my rain jacket!
