After spending three days in Zamora resting my feet and buying new shoes, i am off again to Santiago. My goal is to reach Santiago in 12 days for the midnight game, USA v Ghana. While somewhat of an arbitrary goal, pratically speaking i wanted to be somewhere i had a reasonably good chance to watch the game. Most of the places i stay in Spain are podunk pueblos out in the middle of the country.
The stretch from Zamora north was ugly. This town withstanding, the next 40km was walking along the road as a major freeway was being built. Later going through the Sabrinas Way, serious construction was happening all the way to Ourense as construction crews dynamite and tunnel through the mountains to put in a high velocity train.
